Last summer
it wasn’t until the week before school started back that I realized how many friends I never saw over the summer. We meant to get together, we really did. Good friends, dear friends, our kids are friends.
But you get caught up in…
…being lazy…
…sleeping in…
(Wait? What’s that?)
I mean… driving your kids around for sports, taking them to the pool, maybe working from home, possibly taking your child with special needs to ESY (that’s summer school for kids with an IEP).
And before you know it, summer is almost over.
You’ve never met Kara at the pool, invited Amy out to lunch, or met up with Lisa and her kids at the park.
Well, I had it!
I decided to fix my summer waste-away once and for all and came up with…
Summer Fun Day!
What exactly is Summer Fun Day, you say?
Well, it’s like an open house day, but without the deep cleaning, nosy realtors, and selling your house.
It’s where you set a day for friends and their kids to come by your house at any time to visit, play, have coffee, and just relax. And because you’ve invited them, they know you’ll be home. They know they’re welcome. And if they know others are coming too, they know they’re likely to have fun and their kids will have other kids to play with.
Now, wouldn’t it be great if I gave you a breakdown of exactly how to plan your own Summer Fun Day? Here you go!
Be sure to let me know when you plan your first Summer Fun Day, by reaching out, tagging me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, and using the hashtag #SummerFunDay! I can’t wait to see all the fun you’ll have!
And until you get to plan your own day, I’ll share some pictures of my most recent one. We had about 15 adults/moms (and anywhere from 1-4 kids each) stop by over the course of the day. It was a blast and a wonderful way to catch up with everyone.
Lots of thanks to all of my fun friends and their kids! You told the best stories, shared the yummiest snacks, and warmed my heart so. And if you didn’t make that one, watch your inbox for my upcoming July #SummerFunDay!
